Week One
My first week at uni is over. All the introductions are done and its time to get down to the real work. :)
I had the Tute on Wednesday and the lecture on Thursday... Both were pretty much just an introduction of the tutors/lecturers and what we'll be doing in this course. The tute was great Kaya was awesome definitely going to be a fun class with some good laughs... The Lecture was good too, we discussed new and old communication technologies and how/why we have progressed since hand written and oral communications.
Something Josh (lecturer) said has particularly stuck with me though. He was speaking about how we, as the tech generation, have to be careful of narrowing our communication scopes. Interesting I thought... Us? Narrow communication scopes? With E-mail, Telephones, social, networking and the rest! At the completion of the lecture i understand and completely agree.
Although we do have more sources of communication technologies than any of our predecessors we limit ourselves! With "groups" and "friend lists" and "allowing" and "accepting" each other we form a box of contacts which we refuse to step outside... We have the same conversations with the same people and are on a whole, less likely to meet and communicate with people we don't know.
Anyway enough word regurgitation for one night... Its Friday, its late and i have to work in the morning. In summary I had a good week at uni, I think I'll enjoy my course's, particularly this one and News and Politics... Have a wonderful weekend...
